Pre-natal yoga creates optimum health and awareness of the body and helps expectant mums to connect with the baby. This type of yoga has a gentle approach to exercise enabling women to practise during the pregnancy, although beginning early (after 12 weeks) will help the body adjust and relax during pregnancy. The stretching and toning exercises help to develop a stronger, more supple body and promote good posture as the baby grows.
At Soul Yoga we focus on breath awareness and deep relaxation, which along with the stretching and toning exercises helps bring an additional source of strength and energy to the process of pregnancy, labour and childbirth.
The classes have no more than 12 students in a comfortable and friendly environment, assisting women to express and resolve any fears and anxieties, both with the yoga teacher and each other, helping to face labour confidently and calmly.
As with most aspects of pregnancy, and the differing needs of prospective mums, we would advise that you talk it over with your Doctor before starting pre-natal Yoga. We welcome family Doctors contacting us to find out what the pre-natal classes involve, and are happy to be contacted to give further information if needed.
Doctors or prospective mums can use the Enquiry form, or contact us directly.
